Let’s face it we are such animals

It’s been a long time since I’ve found the desire to write anything of substance. And why you may ask? Well let’s examine the why’s then. Since this entire pandemic situation, Covid 19, CoronaVirus bla, bla, bla has taken this world by storm my introspective focus has much to do with humanity. Sitting atop of my perch, cigar in hand while sipping on a glass of heavily underrated Jamaican white rum and coke, I ponder the state of the world as my poor exhaled attempts fail to create the letter “O” by way of smoke residue. We, you and I have seen examples worldwide which any extraterrestrial being would question our sanity one and or question “Are these homosapiens worthy of such a vast gorgeous mass called Earth.”

Each nation as documented by news outlets through and through have incredulous  accounts of inhumane behaviour, attitudes and slights towards one another, during a pandemic which seems to have no end in sight. It’s like when faced with a dangerous situation we neglect the foresight to act accordingly. Similarly its the precise behavior when it rains for instance, not all but a good percentage of people feel the need to drive faster. Total disregard for their own lives not to mention the precious life of others.

At this point the glass in my hand has been raised to a level so I can analyze the remaining alcoholic content. There’s no way around it folks! As much love and admiration Hollywood depicts human beings to naturally have, what we uphold with questionable vigor is our natural love for chaos. It’s innate, it’s raw, it’s unfortunate, it’s human. It’s like our own chaos or perceived threat punishes us with fear. And this fear doubles down and the angst manifies. Hence we subconsciously enjoy the fear. It gives us something to talk about. It heightens our discussions then we look for “worthy” adversaries for our cause. We, you and I are in fact a smiden different from wild mammals roaming this “vastness”. We are animals people. Cut and dry. The only difference is “free will” and the willingness to use our mental capacity to manipulate. Sorry to be a debbie downer but that’s it. Maybe it’s the alcohol or the cigar fumes which were once tightly rolled in thin brownish paper from the shores of the Dominican Republic. Maybe the slight inebriation because of the perilous times has me thinking about solutions but instead I’m getting half baked answers. Or just maybe I’m right. Maybe! To be continued…..
